Father's Day Special (with video!)

Happy Father's Day!

This has been a busy, but fun weekend for all of us. Friday, we took Simon to the vet and by the time we were done, the weather had taken a turn for the worse, forcing us to drive home through a pretty nasty thunderstorm. I was a little jittery, but Simon was fine through the whole thing and so were the dogs. Rocky's liver checked out good again and Nikki is still a healthy 10-year old.

Yesterday, Simon got to see Uncle Ben, Aunt Kim and his cousins Audrey and Wesley. Audrey held Simon for a while and was very reluctant to let him go, but they had to leave for western Iowa, so we got him back.

Afterward, we went to the Cedar Rapids Farmers' Market downtown with Grandma Linda & Old Man Chuck and walked around for about an hour, picking up fresh produce and browsing local merchants. Then we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, La Salsita, where the burritos are as big as Simon! It was tiring, but we made up for it with several naps.

Napping continued this morning as we missed church (they gave a shout out to Simon though) and this afternoon we met local Greerians and Cursonites at Coldstone Creamery for a Father's Day sweetie fest. It was a lot of fun, and once again Simon slept through it all. Deborah's grandmother Ila Mae did have a memorable quote from the event. It goes something like this: "When they are small you teach them how to speak and stand-up, but when they get older you just wish they'd shut-up and sit down". Hopefully, our little pine nut won't prescribe to that theory. If so, we'll just send him to Great Grandma's for lunch.

That's it for now. I think I got the video thing down, so here's an earlier one we shot that's been the subject of a recent feeding conspiracy in the Curson-Vieira household.

(Sorry about the "Old Man" thing... can I still play Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2010??)
