Fall outings and Barry Gibb

Last week we had more dogs than humans sleeping in the house and it was a little crazy at times. It was rainy most of the week, and Zach (the Vizsla in the background) dug a nice muddy hole on the side of the house, so we had to quarantine all canines to hardwood floors while Simon and I steam vacuumed the carpet.

"Get me outta here!!!"

High-visibility vacuuming

At 26.5 inches, Simon has gone "sans insert" in two baby-carrying devices. We took the infant insert out of his car seat and at daycare, he graduated to the big boy seat when he goes on buggy rides. We also received a really cool outfit from Jeremiah and Leslie, our friends from VA.

Crazy cool medallions

On Saturday, the skies cleared up and we headed out to Bart's Farm on the outskirts of Marion. Bart (our Nissan parts guru) and Kim (my coworker at RC) were very gracious and have an awesome farm with riding ponies, racing horses and moo cows. Kim loaded us up with some of the last remaining pumpkins and took this shot of us.

From there, we headed to a trunk-or-treat event at the church Deborah works at. Simon got to meet pirates, retired fishermen, punk rocker girls and even Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker!! That got me thinking... did Leia ever meet Yoda? Perhaps when Luke and Leia were first born. I thought maybe she saw him in Jedi, but he was just a ghost and Luke was the only one that saw him outside the Ewok village on Endor. Anyway, I digress. Regardless of what happened in the Star Wars Trilogy (that's right Episodes I, II and III are dead to me), Yoda was in the house at NCC's Trunk-or-Treat '09.

"Always in motion is the future"

After Zach and Maggie left, Rocky and Nikki finally got to have some quality time with Simon. They got there baby fix for a while.

Rocky likes smelling people breath... weird
