5 Month Milestones

Today is Simon's five-month birthday and he has hit a bunch of developmental milestones in the past week.

1.He is rolling all over the place. On Sunday afternoon Simon rolled from his back to his tummy and ever since then, he has been a rolling fool. His favorite thing is to roll a few times in a row so that he travels several feet. One of Simon's caregivers at daycare noted that he doesn't roll gently either - he rolls like he is determined to go places...a real go-getter ;)

2. Simon tried rice cereal on Saturday and has been eating it every day since. He doesn't eat a whole lot right now as we are just trying to get him used to the texture, but I think he is going to like eating solid foods. Right now he likes the spoon more than the cereal. I've given him the spoon to play with and he likes to wave it around and bang it on his highchair tray.

3. He likes to look at himself and others in the mirror. The best way to get a giggle out of Simon these days is to put him in front of the bathroom mirror and ask, "Where's that baby?" He also likes to bounce and sing in front of the mirror.

Simon also loves his doggies. He laughs when they run through the house and "speak." He also really likes to grab Nikki's soft fur.

He likes it!

We've got a bunch of video to edit this week. Hopefully we will have a weekend video fest, with cereal eating and rolling.

  1. Yeah! Exciting! I can't believe how much Ethan is eating now - like a bulldozer.
