Happy New Year!

The new year is now here and we have lots of changes going on in our house. The biggest is that Simon is starting to make the switch to formula. We made that decision for a variety of reasons, but we are hoping to have him weaned from breast milk in a few weeks - must use up the supply in the freezer first. I admit that at first I was a little sad, but using formula is going to be much easier. I still nurse him in the morning and at night, right before bed. That is our cuddle time together.

Simon is also eating more solids. Today he tried sweet peas. He seems to like them and the huge mess they make. This afternoon I am going to make more sweet potato puree and an apple puree. My hope is that he will try and like lots of foods so that some day he will become an adventurous eater like Paul and me.

This past week, Simon passed the 200 day mark. So, what has he accomplished in his 200 days? He can sit up.
  • He eats solids.
  • He recognizes people and toys.
  • He scoots all over the floor.
  • He loves classical music - Mozart is his favorite. He gets genuinely happy when he hears music.
  • He reaches and grabs for everything and tries to put it in his mouth. (Time for more baby-proofing)
That's all we have time for today. Must get Simon's stuff ready for daycare and have some relaxation time before we go back to work tomorrow.

Getting ready to eat!!

Mommy and Simon tired out after a long day of playing.
